There are a variety of applications in which flange pipe becomes a necessity. Not just plumbing in particular, although that’s where the name comes from. The concept, however, simply involves engineers finding a solution in which they can close off a chamber securely, which must be done in several industries. This necessity is usually created by the desire to have differing compositions or pressure levels on the inside and outside of a chamber. Two pieces of metal must be joined together with a bolted lip. Said lips are referred to as flanges and they can be found in several applications.
